Food Security Learning Center

First launched in 2002, the Food Security Learning Center is run by World Hunger Year, with collaboration from the Community Food Security Coalition and support from the Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program of the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The goal of the Learning Center is to provide tools to build a truly food secure world that is sustainable and healthy for all people, communities, and the environment. We are concerned with the health and livelihood of the farmers, the field workers, the processors, and all of us, everyone who eats.

Through comprehensive topics, searchable databases, news, alerts, and other special features, the Learning Center provides ways to get informed and involved in food system change, from the grassroots to the global level. From getting local food into school meals to promoting farmers´ markets in food insecure communities, the Learning Center offers blueprints and examples of models that work.

Around the US and the world, more and more people are joining this movement to build true food security. WHY´s Food Security Learning Center invites everyone into the movement.

We welcome new visitors and encourage you to check back often and to share your feedback with us.
