WhyHunger continues to call on the federal government to pass comprehensive emergency legislation to ensure low-income families, working people, seniors, children and those most impacted by the COVID-19 crisis get the nutritious food and support services they need.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which passed the House again on March 16th, is an important step in the right direction to provide immediate relief to those in need. While this legislation alone is not going to address all the nation’s pressing needs, it offers important boosts to food security initiatives, paid sick leave, paid family and medical leave, free COVID-19 testing and other critical measures.
WhyHunger is calling on the Senate and President Trump to swiftly approve the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to get necessary relief to those struggling to make ends meet. Join WhyHunger and:
1. Call your Senator Today: Dial (202) 224-3121 or Look up your Senator here. Tell them to “Vote YES on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to protect and support families, workers, seniors and children struggling with their basic needs!”
2. Tweet at your Senator: Find your Senator’s twitter handle from CSPAN’s list of members of Congress here.

WhyHunger will continue to call on the government to take further actions to protect the most vulnerable during this crisis and year-round. Now is the time to act! Thank you for joining us to ensure that everyone has the basic human right to nutritious food.
