We’re excited to honor Congressman Jerrold Nadler\, a major champion in the fight against hunger and a longtime member of WhyHunger’s Advisory Board. We’ll start the evening with a VIP Reception with Rep. Nadler at 6:00pm\, and the cocktail party and dancing will follow from 7:00 to 10:00pm \nThis year’s event will be at City Vineyard (233 West St\, NYC)\, which sits right along the Hudson River and overlooks the Manhattan skyline. Guests will enjoy seasonal appetizers\, custom wines and specialty cocktails\, roof deck access\, and a live DJ spinning groovy music—so make sure to bring your dancing shoes! DESCRIPTION:Youth Rising In Brazil! \nAn evening of conversation\, global music and food and with Levante: Brazil’s youth popular uprising movement \nLevante Popular de Juventude (Youth Popular Uprising) is a Brazilian social movement\, founded in 2012\, that organizes students and young people in urban and rural areas across Brazil to engage in the struggle for social transformation. \nJoin us on Thursday\, October 17 for delicious Brazilian food\, global music and a cross-cultural conversation and Q & A with three organizers from Levante\, NYC\, and other grassroots movements. The event will be held at the People Forum (320 West 37th Street\, New York\, NY) Free admission! This event is being held in collaboration with the People Forum. \nWhyHunger believes a world without hunger is possible. For more than 40 years\, we have been providing critical resources to support grassroots movements and fuel community solutions rooted in social\, environmental\, racial and economic justice. We are working to end hunger and advance human right to nutritious food in the U.S. and around the world.
