Join us at Dylan Murphy’s Bar for our first-ever WhyHunger Bar Takeover! Four of our brave young professionals will be bartending from 7 - 10 PM. All tips will be donated to WhyHunger. If you’re going to be drinking anyway, you might as well do it for a good cause!
Join WhyHunger for lunch at the “Garden of Happiness” urban garden in the Bronx and learn as community activist, farmer and WhyHunger Board Member Karen Washington discusses the history of the garden and the importance of urban agriculture within the food justice movement.
WhyHunger’s Young Professionals are kicking off 2018 with “Bring in the Spring!” A Paint & Sip Charity Event. Join us on Tuesday, April 10 from 6:00 – 8:30pm at The Painting Lounge in Midtown (40 West 38th St, 2nd Floor, Buzzer: 001). Doors open at 6:00 to drink and mingle. We’ll begin painting at promptly at 6:30.
WhyHunger is hosting a volunteer service opportunity at The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) on Wednesday, January 22 in BedStuy Brooklyn, NY. Come out and join WhyHunger staff, board members and other young professionals for a great volunteer service opportunity during MLK week of service. See below for more details and click here to RSVP.
Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2020; 9:30am – 1:30pm
Location: The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH), 2010 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11233
Volunteer duties: Serve customers at the largest food pantry in Brooklyn. Be ready to answer questions and look for food items, clothing, and toiletries based on customers’ own needs and preferences. Support the office, boutique, and operations by providing customer service, restocking shelves, unloading deliveries, and keeping the shopping and storage areas clean and organized
Time: Please arrive promptly at 9:30am. The volunteer service will end at 1:30pm
