For the fourth consecutive year WhyHunger received the highest rating of four stars for excellence in fiscal management, accountability and transparency from America’s leading independent charity evaluator, Charity Navigator.
“Only 7% of the charities we rate have received at least 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that WhyHunger outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates WhyHunger from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.” – Ken Berger, President & Chief Executive Officer, Charity Navigator
Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that an organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. WhyHunger spends 89 percent of all funds directly on programs and only 11 percent on fundraising and administration. When people donate to WhyHunger, they can be sure we spend the money responsibly.
