Last week, we shared three videos from the 2014 Real Food Media Contest to highlight the value of storytelling in food and farming. This week, the 2015 Finalists were announced, and we’re excited to watch all ten of these short films! Films range from 30 seconds to four minutes in length, and each one reveals a different story about the food system. The Real Food Media Contest announcement offers a taste of what the stories entail:

“Covering a range of topics from food and farm labor to cottage food legislation, a lens into humane meat processing and making beneficial bugs, the ten finalists were selected from over 175 submissions featuring stories from our backyards to Belgium to British Columbia. Diverse formats include documentary to advocacy, spoken word to our first animated submissions in honor of the 10th anniversary of the online movie, The Meatrix.”

Online voting for People’s Choice Award is open through February 27, and official judges for the contest include Aarón Sánchez, WhyHunger’s Chef Ambassador. To watch and vote on your favorite short film, go to www.realfoodmedia.org/vote.
